Language Acquisition Team

Mrs Horvathova is the Teacher in charge of Language Acquisition. Mrs Horvathova has lots of experience at Lliswerry and many of you will know her from transition projects you have taken part in throughout your time at primary school. Mrs Horvathova supports our learners with their learning of English to help them access the curriculum. Mrs Horvathova also supports many of our learners with their physical, cultural and social development, through mentoring, organising trips and outdoor speakers, and setting up after school clubs. Mrs Horvathova also teaches one of our Language Acquisition groups.

Miss Gheorghiu is a Bilingual Teaching Assistant. One of her roles is to support learners in mainstream lessons with their language development to help them access the curriculum. Miss Gheorghiu also helps our Pastoral Team keep in contact with those at home by communicating with parents and carers.
