Launch Team

My name is Mr Herbert and I am in charge of the year 7 project team. I am also a year 7 form tutor and project teacher. Next year will be my sixth year at Lliswerry. At Lliswerry, I have taught English, literacy, history and psychology. This will be my fourth year as a year 7 form tutor. This means I am very familiar with some of the worries that you may have as you move up to High School. It's a new and exciting time for you and I look forward to meeting you in September.

My name is Mrs Jones and I teach project to year 7 pupils at Lliswerry High. I am also a year 7 form tutor and I will be here to help you settle at school in September. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all and know that you will have a fantastic time at Lliswerry High School.

My name is Mr Thompson. I am a year 7 form tutor and project teacher. Next year will be my eleventh year at Lliswerry. At Lliswerry, I have taught English, literacy, media studies and religious studies. This will be my fourth as a year 7 form tutor. This means I have lots of experience with helping learners that are new to the school. High school will be a fabulous experience for you. I can't wait to meet you in September.

I am Miss Howells and I am a Year 7 form tutor and project teacher. Next year will be my fourth year at Lliswerry, a place where I have gone through my own transition. I began my journey at Lliswerry as an Teaching Assistant before becoming a project teacher and form tutor. Next year will be my third year as a form tutor. As I made the transition from a primary school teacher to secondary school teacher myself, I know all about the worries that you may have for the next chapter in your life. It’s an amazing journey to go on and I can’t wait to experience it beside you in September.

My name is Mrs Hackling. I am a Teaching Assistant here at Lliswerry High. I have been here at Lliswerry for 13 years. I'm based within the year 7 project team, supporting pupils with their learning, social and communication skills, health and wellbeing within the classroom. If you decide to make use of the canteen facilities before school, you'll also see me stood by the back door offering a 'Meet and Greet '. I'm looking forward to meeting all the new year 7 pupils .

My name is Mrs Smith and I am a Teaching Assistant who works with the year 7 project team. I have worked at Lliswerry High for 21 years. You will see me supporting pupils learning, health and wellbeing in a variety of lessons. Looking forward to meeting all the new year 7 pupils.
