Pastoral Team

My name is Mr Coughlin and I am Head of Key Stage 3 which means that I have pastoral responsibility for the pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9. I have been teaching at the school since 1988 as a PE teacher and if your mum or dad went to school here there is a good chance that they will remember me! I work alongside Mrs Cooper and together we will offer you support and guidance to make sure that your time in Year 7 runs as smoothly as possible.

I have worked at Lliswerry High School for 20 years as a Physical Education teacher and for the last 10 years as Head of Year 7.

One of my roles is to work closely with your Form Tutors to make sure that you are reaching your full academic potential.

My other responsibilities will be to look after your health, well-being and safety every day whilst you are in school as well as ensuring that you all have a smooth transition from your primary schools.

I am based in Key Stage 3 office with Mr Coughlin and the other Heads of Year. I cannot stress enough that my door is always open and I am always willing to listen if you have any concerns, so never hesitate to come and have a chat to me if ever you need to speak to me. I am a good listener.

I am very much looking forward to meeting every one of you in September.
